Easter Celebration at East Meadow Orthodox Church

On Sunday, April 24 at 12 noon, members of Holy Trinity Orthodox Church here will continue the celebration of Easter which began at midnight last night. The service today will feature hymns, special prayers, and an outdoor procession announcing the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. Read more

Members of Holy Trinity Orthodox Church here will make a candle-lit procession around the exterior of their church just before midnight tonight, singing a hymn in honor of Christ’s resurrection. When they reach the front doors of the church, Father Martin Kraus, rector, will proclaim “Christ is risen!” and everyone will respond “Truly, He is risen!” and the Orthodox Christian celebration of Easter will begin.
